Violinist Tiffany Tan has been based in Bern since 2018. She received her musical education at the Purcell School in the UK and the Fryderyk Chopin Music School in Poland, before completing her Bachelor’s degree with distinction at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. She continued her studies at Bern University of the Arts with Monika Urbaniak, graduating with distinction from both the Master of Performance and Master of Specialized Performance Soloist programmes. In 2024, she completed a CAS in Chamber Music at Bern University of the Arts with the Aventurin Quartet under the guidance of Patrick Jüdt.

As a versatile musician, Tiffany Tan combines solo performance, chamber music and orchestral playing. She regularly appears as a soloist in Switzerland and across Europe. Highlights include her final concert for the Master of Specialized Performance Soloist, performed with the Bern Symphony Orchestra at Kultur Casino Bern. In 2026, she was awarded a scholarship from the Conza Foundation.

Chamber music is a particular focus of her artistic work. As a co-founder of the Aventurin Quartet and Duo Kaizen, she performs regularly in Switzerland and internationally. With the Aventurin Quartet, she has been Artist in Residence at the Guimarães Classico Festival in Portugal and, for the second time, at Britten Pears Arts in the UK. Further engagements have taken her to the Laupen Castle Festival, Thun Castle Concerts, the female classics festival and Jungkunst Winterthur, among others.

Alongside the core classical repertoire, Tiffany Tan is passionate about rediscovering rarely performed works and championing contemporary music. Through her own concert projects, such as AcoustiCity, she combines performances of new compositions with innovative concert formats and promotes collaboration with emerging composers based in Switzerland.

As an orchestral musician, Tiffany Tan has been a member of the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève since 2025. She has also been an academy member of the Basel Symphony Orchestra and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, and regularly collaborates with other Swiss orchestras and ensembles.
